Tonight, the Chicago Cubs will play in the World Series … for the second time. So, like, who cares, right?!
The Cubs dropped the first one in Cleveland without much offense, so Joe Maddon has stacked the lineup with bats tonight.
Chicago Cubs Lineup v. Cleveland Indians (Trevor Bauer):
- Dexter Fowler, CF
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Ben Zobrist, LF
- Kyle Schwarber, DH
- Javy Baez, 2B
- Willson Contreras, C
- Jorge Soler, RF
- Addison Russell, SS

Immediately, you’ll notice that each of Kyle Schwarber, Javy Baez, Willson Contreras, and Jorge Soler are in tonight’s lineup, which, wow. Thanks to the designated hitter and Jason Heyward/Miguel Montero on the bench, this might be the most #cookies lineup I’ve ever seen.
Schwarber once again DHs, after having multiple impressive plate appearances last night (against really tough pitching and six-months of rehab), Soler heads out to right field, and Contreras catches Jake Arrieta instead of Miguel Montero. Everyone else is in their usual spots, and Addison Russell, somehow, is the Cubs ninth hitter.
We’ll have more on the opposing starter, Trevor Bauer, later in the day, and of course we’ll have a full Pre-Gamin’ for you closer to game time, but for now, just enjoy the reality of that lineup above.
