Before the days of interleague play, a game like today’s would actually have some fans a little amped and hot.
As it is, the White Sox are visiting the Cubs at Sloan Park today, and it is more or less just another Spring Training game.
But, hey, going by the Cubs’ lineup, they’re in it to win it. Unfortunately, today’s game is not televised anywhere, so anyone not actually at the game will have to dream about how good Schwarber-Bryant-Rizzo looked going back-to-back-to-back to open the game against new White Sox youngster Lucas Giolito.
The game is, however, being broadcast via audio on MLB.com.

Brett Anderson makes his spring debut with the Cubs, and, given his veteran status and dodgy annual health, I wouldn’t look for much more out of him today than hopefully feeling like a million bucks when the day is done. Although Anderson is in a nominal battle with Mike Montgomery for the fifth starter job, it is most likely, no matter what happens this spring, that if both guys are healthy (and the rest of the rotation is as well), they’ll both be getting starts early in the year.
For future reference, you can check which games will be televised here.
The Cubs will see not only Giolito in this one, but another of the White Sox’s big prospect acquisitions: Yoan Moncada, who will play second base.
Seth Frankoff, Dylan Floro, Pierce Johnson, and Jhondaniel Medina may also pitch in this one for the Cubs, per the daily sheet.

- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Ben Zobrist, 2B
