Let’s play two, eh?
Spring Training is not yet a week old, and the Cubs are already on the second split squad day, with half the team having already played the Reds in Surprise earlier today.
Tonight’s crew heads to Salt River Fields to take on the Diamondbacks. Jake Buchanan makes his second Spring Training start, as he works to stay in the mix as a depth starting option should the Cubs need him in that capacity at some point this year.
Offensively, the Cubs start out with a mix of youngsters and vets, with Kyle Schwarber leading off and DH’ing.
