The Chicago Cubs (2-2-2) beat the Kansas City Royals yesterday by a final score of 7-3.
At first, the win looked like it would be chalked up to the Royals beating themselves early on, but some ninth-inning offense from John Andreoli (triple), Jacob Hannemann (double), and Eloy Jimenez (double) opened things up quite a bit.
The rest is history.
Today, however, the Cubs take on the Cincinnati Reds (0-6) in the first of two games on the docket for the day, and Rob Zastryzny takes the ball with a solid group of regulars behind him.

Jason Heyward gets another start at the top of the order, so that he can get as many real-game reps as possible before the start of the season. We’re rooting for ya, big guy.
Anthony Rizzo was slated to start at first base and hit third, but he was a late scratch with back issues. Brett wrote more about it here.
And finally, the bottom of the lineup features the Cubs top two prospects, Eloy Jimenez and Ian Happ. It will not be long until those two are impacting the big league Cubs in one way or another. They are too fun to watch.
… but today’s game will not be broadcast on TV. The Cubs-based audio will be available at MLB.com. For future reference, you can check which games will be televised here.
