Not that anyone would have doubted the reigning MVP, particularly on the basis of Spring Training, but Kris Bryant hasn’t quite been the same Spring Training megastar that he was in that 2015 session – remember when he was homering every other game? That year, he hit an LOL .425/.477/1.175 on the Spring (and then, um, refined his game at AAA Iowa for a couple weeks before making his big league debut). Last Spring, though, Bryant hit a completely pedestrian .310/.355/.586, and this year he was at just .111/.200/.111 coming into today.
There’s a lotta joking in there, by the way. Just so we’re clear.

It’s all just fun anyway, and it was fun today when Bryant smacked his first homer of this year’s Cactus League. A rocket grand slam against the Dodgers:

The Dodgers are going to have continued nightmares about Bryant, Spring Training or not.
