As we speak, Anthony Rizzo is roundin’ the bases at Sloan Park, celebrating his first Spring Training home run … er, well, he was a few innings ago.
After two quick outs (Kyle Schwarber and Kris Bryant) in the bottom of the first inning, Rizzo stepped up to the plate and launched one to deep right-center field, giving the Cubs an early lead.
And thanks to the good people of Cubs Insider, we can finally give it a looksie:

Just listen to the crack of that bat! Rizzo definitely wasn’t cheated on that one; what a deep shot!
Rizzo has hit over 30 home runs for three straight seasons and there’s no reason to expect him to slow down any time soon. And in case you didn’t know, Rizzo already has the 16th most home runs in Chicago Cubs history. If he keeps his pace up for the next two years, he’ll crack the top ten.
If he can do it for five more years (reasonable considering his age), he’ll give Ryne Sandberg (282 HRs) and the top five a run for their money.
