Chicago Cubs Lineup: Happ, Candelario, and Hannemann Draw Starts

Chicago Cubs

With most of the Cubs’ regulars having played back-to-back games this weekend, most are getting the day off today.

Here’s the Cubs lineup:

  1. Tommy La Stella, 3B
  2. Albert Almora, CF
  3. Jon Jay, LF
  4. Willson Contreras, C
  5. Jeimer Candelario, 1B
  6. Matt Szczur, RF
  7. Ian Happ, 2B
  8. Munenori Kawasaki, SS
  9. Jacob Hannemann, DH

Starting Pitcher: John Lackey

Ian Happ continues to rake this spring when given an opportunity, so it’s nice to see him getting another start before heading out to minor league camp (something that is presumably coming soon).

Jeimer Candelario gets another start at first base. He can handle the corner infield spots well enough, but it’s still an open question whether he could play adequate left field, and further increase his versatility.

Hey, how about outfielder Jacob Hannemann? He gets the DH slot today, and is hitting .304 this spring with a .407 OBP.

And, as usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time (3:05 CT).
