After most of the regulars got the day off yesterday, the lineup is back to looking closer to it’s regular season form.
Here’s the Cubs lineup for today:
- Ben Zobrist, 2B
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Addison Russell, SS
- Jason Heyward, RF
- Willson Contreras, C
- Miguel Montero, DH
- Matt Szczur, LF
- Jon Jay, CF
Starting Pitcher: Brett Anderson

Ben Zobrist leads things off, in Kyle Schwarber’s absence, but the next five batters resume their usual, relative order. Other than that, Matt Szczur gets another start in left field, as he tries to win that last spot on the Opening Day roster (which is a must-win for the Cubs and him).
Jon Jay also gets the start in center field, after starting in left field yesterday. His ability to play all three outfield spots will prove to be quite valuable this season, I suspect.
And just because I know we’re all dying to see him now, Ian Happ is available off the bench (as is Eloy Jimenez and Jeimer Candelario).
#Cubs prospect Ian Happ leads team with 3 HR, 9 RBI this spring. He's batting .467 (14-for-30) in 14 games
