I would say that I offer this in some kind of quest to highlight the good stuff from last night’s otherwise frustrating loss, but, in truth, I just loving watching Addison Russell doing his thing.
In the 8th inning of a tied game, any baserunner could mark the difference between a win and a loss, so having a shortstop who can do this is invaluable:

Russell has shown a special ability to get to those hard hit balls immediately to his right, turn quickly, and fire a strike to first (even though he is, at that point in his pirouette, turning in the other direction). Truly, I enjoy it every time.
With the Cubs’ bats going through a bit of a frosty period, the team’s stellar defense will help keep them in these tight, low-scoring games.
