Tonight, the Chicago Cubs return to Wrigley Field as champions, and then they’ll do battle against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Brett, Luis, and I will all be there for the game (this rain better stop), and fortunately, we will not be in the lineup.
Here’s who will be:
- Kyle Schwarber, LF
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Ben Zobrist, RF
- Addison Russell, SS
- Willson Contreras, C
- Jason Heyward, CF
- Javy Baez, 2B
- Jon Lester, P

For Jon Lester’s second start of the season, the Cubs dip back into the Opening Day lineup. That is, Jason Heyward takes over center field, Ben Zobrist grabs his outfield glove and heads out to right, and Javy Baez mans second base.
Of course, it’s completely possible that this’ll be the preferred defensive alignment for when Jon Lester is on the mound (Javy can actually make a measurable difference on stolen base attempts), but I wonder – as Brett did earlier – if were going to just keep seeing more and more of Javy Baez at second as the season goes on.
Other than that, not much is different (Lester does move down to the ninth spot, instead of hitting eighth though). I just can’t wait to see if Jason Heyward can continue his hard-hitting ways – only this time, in person!
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time.
