After coming so close to sweeping the Pirates in Pittsburgh, the Cubs rested up for a day, and now will face the Red Sox in Boston.

Here’s the Cubs lineup for their first interleague game of the year:
- Kyle Schwarber, DH
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Ben Zobrist, LF
- Addison Russell, SS
- Willson Contreras, C
- Jason Heyward, RF
- Javy Baez, 2B
- Albert Almora, CF
As expected, Kyle Schwarber is the Cubs’ first DH of the year, allowing him a little extra rest time between innings. The move also allows the Cubs to keep Ben Zobrist’s bat in the lineup, while also accommodating the gloves of Javy Baez (second base) and Albert Almora (center field), since Jason Heyward need not be moved out of right. So many interconnected parts!
It’s kind of a shame that Jake Arrieta’s start is coming in an AL park, since he can hit a bit. Then again, he’s probably not Kyle Schwarber.
Speaking of Schwarber, we discussed earlier that he’s been in a bit of a slump, so hopefully DH duties agree with him.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time (6:10 CT).
