That was exhausting for me, so I can only imagine how the players feel. Thank goodness the Cubs won, or that would have been a really long night.
After 12 and a half innings of play, the Cubs once again had a chance to win it in the 13th – Albert Almora doubled to lead off the inning, and that should be just about all you need to lock in a 90+% chance of winning. But an out and a walk later, Matt Szczur grounded into what threatened to be ANOTHER inning-ending double play.

Good hustle by Szczur and Almora, so I don’t want to put it all on the Phillies. Even a good throw doesn’t get Szczur, and who knows, maybe Almora just keeps on running anyway like Willson Contreras did yesterday.
