Javy Baez just homered to deep left field to tie tonight’s game – for the moment – at one.
But that was perhaps the least interesting aspect of the homer.
Before the homer, Baez fouled a ball off his foot, and dropped to the ground in serious pain. It looked like he might not even stay in the game, making the homer that followed all the more impressive. Here’s where the ball struck him, and it’s not like Javy gets cheated on his swings:
Seriously though. Ouch. Props for Javy Baez for doing the thing after this. pic.twitter.com/agsRweIniM

Speaking of that homer, it went out at 104.5 mph, and travelled 368 happy feet.
Notice the best part of the homer? Yankees left fielder Aaron Hicks had absolutely no idea where the ball was:

Lucky for him – and the Cubs – the ball wasn’t going to be caught no matter what. Otherwise, Baez was gonna have to be chugging around the bases on that possibly-dinged-up foot.
