I know the relocated bullpens at Wrigley Field are still a sore subject for many fans. Seeing the relievers there on the field, warming up and interacting with the fans … it was cool. No question about it.
But with the renovations in full swing, and the safety questions that always popped up with those bullpen mounds, the Cubs elected to move the bullpens into a more traditional enclosed space under the bleachers. It’s better for the outfielders, and maybe even the relievers, too. But not much upside for the fans.
Or is there?
OK, so I won’t try to sell you on the idea that this totally makes up for the moved bullpens, but I am going to tell you that this video the Cubs captured of the dueling bullpens during yesterday’s Cubs-Brewers rain delay is freaking awesome:

That’s just so amazing. Carl Edwards Jr. has some serious moves – that worm was legit!
Good on the Brewers for noticing, and then joining in the fun. What else are you going to do when you’re penned up for a couple hours, eh?
