I still can’t believe he made it this far, or that I made it this far watching and covering ‘Dancing with the Stars,’ at least in some tangential way.
Chicago Cubs executive and former catcher David Ross is competing in ABC’s ‘Dancing with the Stars’, and has become the unquestioned favorite underdog in the competition. With support from Cubs fans – and folks who just like nice guys – Ross has reached the competition’s finale, and last night was the first part of the final chance to show off his chops.
Together with his partner, Lindsay Arnold, Ross danced a formal waltz, and kicked back to a freestyle dance with a baseball flavor:
The latter dance earned the pair a perfect score, though the waltz was the low score of the night. They can still take home the Mirror Ball Trophy if they get enough fan support, though.
Did that really just happen??? #perfectscore!!!! #FlyTheW 800-868-3404 pic.twitter.com/DoWYiMwdh3

The final performance will be tonight, and the winner will be decided. Does Ross have another championship in him? Perhaps he’ll get a rain delay assist tonight.
