The Chicago Cubs won the first two games of this series, but that’s not enough! Time to put the foot down on a sweep.
Here’s the group that tries to make it happen:
- Ian Happ, CF
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Ben Zobrist, 2B
- Jason Heyward, RF
- Miguel Montero, C
- Addison Russell, SS
- Kyle Hendricks, P
- Kyle Schwarber, LF
Very similar to yesterday’s change ups, but with Addison Russell back in at shortstop, and Miguel Montero tagging in behind the plate.
Although he’s long been a reverse split guy, Cardinals starter Michael Wacha actually sports an absurdly strong traditional split this year (i.e., lefties are crushing him but righties are not). So the Cubs get the extra lefty in there with Montero.
Here’s hoping the Cubs’ bats get going early, and they don’t *have* to pull off another comeback today. But if it happens, it’s not like I’d complain about three straight come-from-behind wins to sweep the Cardinals.
As usual, we’ll have your Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time (6:35 CT).
