This will be the Chicago Cubs season that finally pushes me to take up meditation. It’s cool. I’ve needed to do it anyway.
A moderately competitive game became a laugher by the end, as the Cubs’ bats once again failed to muster much of anything (albeit against a very good young pitcher this time around), and the bullpen collapsed late. It was an ugly game through and through, and it netted the Cubs their fourth straight loss.
They now stare down the prospect of a four-game sweep at home tomorrow, needing a win to salvage a winning homestand … which started with five straight wins. Yikes.
Bottom’s up tonight, friends.
