Cubs Still Have Two Starters in Latest NL All-Star Balloting

Chicago Cubs

We’ve slid into the second half of June, which means the All-Star break is coming quickly. The Cubs figure to have at least some representation at this year’s game in Miami, even if it won’t be close to last year’s deservedly robust turnout.

The fans are still showing their support, though, as we can see in the latest voting results released today:

Kris Bryant holds steady atop the third base voting, where he’s probably going to stay for good, despite Nolan Arenado’s latest heroic effort (I’ll admit: going for the cycle, where you get the homer on a walk-off home run … that’s really freaking cool).

Jason Heyward is also in starting position with the third outfield spot, albeit far behind Bryce Harper and Charlie Blackmon. Heyward is just head of teammate Ben Zobrist.

Javy Baez is actually the second highest vote-getter on the Cubs, but he’s far behind second base leader Daniel Murphy. Anthony Rizzo and Willson Contreras are also in second place at their positions, with Contreras far behind, but Rizzo within striking distance.

Come on, Cubs fans? You know you have to get out there and vote for History’s Greatest Leadoff Hitter, right?
