The Cubs’ new, young, cost-controlled starter, Jose Quintana, is making his Cubbie debut this afternoon against the Baltimore Orioles.
We’ve discussed his acquisition to death, but even now I have a hard time believing the Cubs actually pulled this sort of trade off (and without dipping into their Major League roster to boot).
Hopefully, today’s start goes well though:
I can't wait for the winner of the Cubs/Sox trade to be decided by the quality of Jose Quintana's start on Sunday.

I kid, of course. We’re all winners.
Quintana’s last start came against the Rockies just before the break. In that one, he lasted 5.1 innings and gave up three earned runs on a homer and five hits. Oh, and he struck out ten batters and walked just two. *Fire emoji*
Brett discussed the opposing starter, Ubaldo Jimenez, earlier today in the lineup post, so we’ll just look at his last start, too. In 5.0 innings against the Twins, Jimenez gave four earned runs on four hits and four walks. He struck out just three in that start. Hopefully, the Cubs do something similar to him today.
Let’s go! Get that sweep, Cubbies!
