The first place Milwaukee Brewers just lost on a 10th inning walk-off to the Pittsburgh Pirates, which came after their closer blew the save in the 9th inning.
The loss was the Brewers’ 45th of the year, and I’m here to tell you that it is the same number of losses as the Chicago Cubs. Thus, the teams are now tied in the loss column. The Brewers have three more wins, but if the Cubs keep closing like they are, it’s entirely possible they could have passed the Brewers by the time the teams face off next weekend to close out July. Just a week ago, the Brewers were up 5.5 games on the Cubs.
The Cardinals also lost tonight. So that’s cool.
I mean, I’m not scoreboard watching yet or anything, it’s just that the tied-in-the-loss-column thing sounds neat. Go Cubs and such.
