[Hi, I’m awake after my 14-hour post-Blogathon recovery sleep!]
Anthony Rizzo missed Sunday’s series finale against the Brewers with a sore back, as he has from time to time in his career. Fortunately, the Cubs as a whole weren’t too worse for the wear, as Rizzo’s replacement, Victor Caratini, hit the game’s decisive homer. Caratini is likely now headed back to AAA Iowa after the acquisition of Alex Avila, but Rizzo will be back in the lineup tonight.
Per Rizzo, himself:
Anthony Rizzo just told us on Kap and Co. on @espn1000 he plans on being in the lineup tonight when Cubs play the AZ D'Backs on @CSNChicago

That, of course, was always the hope – that a couple days of consecutive rest would do the trick for Rizzo, who consistently excellent bat is always needed there in the middle of the Cubs’ lineup.
