There is no Cubs baseball today, but before you burn your retinas out staring at the sun even though everyone told you not to, you can still enjoy some Cubs goodness in the form of yesterday’s comeback win.
After failing to win the game in regulation, the Cubs headed to the 10th inning, where the bullpen – Koji Uehara and Justin Wilson, in that instance – could not extend the game without giving up lead.
So, trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the 10th, the Cubs (well, and some wild pitches) went to work.
If you missed it, or just want to see it again, @Cubs has you covered:

That’s about as improbable as two-run a comeback gets, with the Cubs striking out twice and reaching base twice in the same inning, and with both of those runners scoring. The Cubs also benefited from a hit by pitch and a wild pitch.
In all, the Cubs scored three runs despite just two singles, and recorded three “outs” in the inning (but actually ended the game with just one out in the inning).
By the time the Cubs went down 5-3, their win expectancy dropped to just 6.8%. Quite a comeback.
Some hat tips: to Kyle Schwarber for hustling on the first strikeout, to Raffy Lopez for not immediately throwing Javy Baez out on his K, to Alex Avila for getting a very hittable pitch and not missing it, and, of course, to Baez for busting it around the bases and scoring with a gorgeous slide.
