Bad news for the St. Louis Cardinals, who’d already fallen 4.5 games behind the Cubs in the NL Central.
Trevor Rosenthal is going on 60-day DL, which reveals direction his injury has taken. Season's over. #cardinals

Trevor Rosenthal had been on the 10-day disabled list with an elbow issue that the Cardinals had hoped he’d be able to get straightened out in short order. Apparently not.
The 27-year-old righty had re-emerged as a critical component of the Cardinals’ bullpen after a disastrous 2016 season. Rosenthal had posted a very good 3.40 ERA this season with even better peripherals.
Now, the Cardinals’ bullpen will be without its best arm for the rest of the year, which will not help their bid to come back in the Central.
