The hurricane that struck the coast of Texas has caused a mountain of problems, and there are probably more problems coming. That means the various aid agencies are going to need help, and we will have plenty of opportunities to provide that help.
And some of those opportunities will probably come from minor league baseball. It is very common when natural disasters strike for minor league teams, including teams far from the area where the disaster has taken place, to stage special events to help out. Keep an eye out on minor league stadiums near you, and you will probably be able to contribute to some of those efforts.
I suspect some teams will be setting up some memorbilia auctions as well. Those are also common in situations like these, and they are often fairly successful at raising funds. As of my typing this no one has announced anything yet, but once the minor league front offices get to work and can begin planning, I think we’ll see some announcements in short order.
