Javy Baez Re-enacts His Dramatic NLDS Homer By Dunking One in the Basket (VIDEO)
It was only fair that Javy Baez got a homer tonight with an assist from the Wrigley Field basket, because he’d earlier crushed one to center field in the game, which yielded only a harmless fly out to the track.
Here’s the homer Baez netted, with love from the basket in left:

362 feet on that one for Baez. Juuuuust enough.
Did that look vaguely familiar to you? It should – it had both the affect and the location of a certain dramatic 8th inning homer by Baez:

I still marvel about how wind-impacted that Baez shot was. He absolutely destroyed the ball, and it still barely made the basket in left.
As for tonight’s shot, that was Baez’s 22 homer of the year. It’s been a good year for Baez all around, especially since he’s been filling in at shortstop.
