Wow. We’ll have more on this very soon, but it comes as a significant surprise given Chris Bosio’s success with the Cubs.
Here’s the report:
The #Cubs have fired respected pitching coach Chris Bosio, and now could reach out to Jim Hickey, who's a top candidate for #STLCards opening

Bosio came to the Cubs all the way back when Dale Sveum was hired, and thus survived two managerial changes. There figures to be more to this story, and we’ll get into it soon.
Hickey, by the way, was the long-time pitching coach in Tampa Bay under Joe Maddon, but is currently a free agent.
Bosio is credited with many of the Cubs’ best reclamation projects, including bringing out the best in Jake Arrieta. This year, the Cubs had a great deal less success on that front, with none of Brett Anderson, Eddie Butler, Alec Mills, or Casey Kelly working out. You can’t pin that all on Bosio – nor can you pin all the control problems in the bullpen on him – but it’s harder to point to a recent “win” than it had been over the previous seasons.
