The newly renovated Wrigley Field will continue playing host to a number of big-time musical acts next summer, including, it seems … The Foo Fighters!

July 29th, the rock band will make their way to Wrigley Field as part of their Concrete and Gold Tour, and you can start buying tickets as soon as November 10 at 10 am CT. If you’re a Capital One cardholder, there’ll be an exclusive pre-sale event four days sooner – full details of which can be seen here at Cubs.com – so be sure to check that out if you’re interested.
And remember: concerts at Wrigley are a good thing for the Cubs. They produce a ton of revenue – none of which needs to be shared with the other teams in the league – that goes directly back into the organization in any number of ways (including payroll).
Unfortunately, as we’ve discussed many times, the number of night events at Wrigley Field are capped by the City and that total includes any Cubs’ night games throughout the season. The Cubs have been working hard to increase their allowance, but so far the City has held firm. In any case, you can mark at least one big one – The Foo Fighters – right smack-dab in the middle of the summer, and that’s pretty great.
You can read more about the concert/event right here at Cubs.com. And for those of you planning on going, enjoy!
