Another domino falls in the massive chain of free agent relievers, with the Rockies finally getting one of their many targets.

Bryan Shaw has deal with rockies

We’ll see what the particulars are, but given his age (30) and long track record of health and success, Shaw might’ve been able to get more than a two-year deal.
The good news here is that the Cubs were not specifically connected to Shaw, and the Rockies are aggressive bullpen pursuers – so it’s nice to see them fill a hole without gobbling up a Cubs target.
UPDATE: Sounds about right:
Sources: Bryan Shaw's deal with the Rockies is for three years, for something in the range of $9 million annually.

If we’re playing the comparison game, though, I prefer the Cubs getting Brandon Morrow for two years and $21 million guaranteed.
UPDATE 2: And, after some oopsie-doodle reporting about Addison Reed going to the Phillies (not the case at present), the Phillies are getting Tommy Hunter:
Hunter deal with Phils is for two years

That’s another reliever to whom the Cubs had not been connected.
