You can’t keep me down forever, Ice Cold Frozen Block Solid Stove.
There are warmer days to dream on:
Cubs’ 1st workout for pitchers and catchers Feb. 14, 1st full workout Feb. 19
— Mark Gonzales (@MDGonzales) January 10, 2018
That means pitchers and catchers will report to Spring Training the day before that first workout, which is thus on February 13. That means we are BARELY A MONTH AWAY from pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring Training. YES PLEASE.
From there, position players will report just before the first full squad workout on February 19. Spring Training games start at the end of the month (full schedule here), and then Opening Day in Miami (at 11:30 am CT!) is on March 29! That one is the very first game of the regular season, so you have you wait less time for official Cubs baseball than any other fan outside of Miami (but are they even looking forward to it?).
And it starts when those pitchers and catchers report. Soooooon …
