If you’re watching the Olympics and that is satisfying your sports craving, then by all means, continue. If you wanted a little glimpse of curated baseball tonight, though, might I suggest a look-see at Kris Bryant’s first at bat at Fenway Park from early last season.
Not only did Bryant homer in that at bat, and not only did the homer clear the Green Monster, but Bryant’s family was in attendance, and he saw them as he crossed home plate:
Of the homer and the following celebration – a rarity for Bryant – here’s what he told MLB.com:
“That’s probably the only time I’ve ever actually seen my family in the stands. I was like, ‘Oh, there he is. Proud dad.’ … It was probably one of my favorite home runs, considering my family is from this area and my dad [was drafted by the Red Sox] and all that. It felt really good.”
A great moment for the Bryants, and a fun memory from that 2017 season. Happy Saturday Night.
