Watch Rizzo and Contreras Go Back-to-Back and Other Bullets
I am going to level with you fine folks. I went to the Blackhawks game last night with some friends. I had a good time. I was appropriately served. Thus, I am a bit … tired today. I will do the best I can with these Bullets, but perhaps you could weigh them against that backdrop.
- In yesterday’s win, Anthony Rizzo and Willson Contreras went back-to-back, which I enjoyed getting to see in the highlights, and I hope to see many times in the regular season:

- You don’t usually see Rizzo going oppo like that, so it was fun. And that Contreras shot was crushed. Also fun.
- Concerns about his physical are indeed what is holding up the JD Martinez signing with the Red Sox, nearly a week after it was agreed to. It doesn’t sound like it’s going to derail the deal or immediately imperil Martinez’s career, but it must be a little something that the Red Sox see, and maybe want to tweak the terms of the unique contract.
- The Cubs put together a great video from the first day of action at Sloan Park, as well as a great tribute to Ron Santo on what would have been his 78th birthday:
