Ian Happ loves two things (apparently): hitting in Spring Training, and hitting leadoff.
After crushing the field last year in Spring Training, Happ is at it again this year, already notching his second homer before the calendar even reaches March. Today, he led off for the Cubs and sent a monster blast out to center, his second straight game leading off with a homer. Heck, in his only other leadoff appearance this spring, he rocketed one to the warning track in left, missing a homer by maybe five feet.

That was a serious shot. By the way, is it just me, or does Happ look a little thicker in the upper half (in a good way)? Maybe he took a little from Kyle Schwarber that he didn’t need.
If Happ keeps showing this much comfort atop the order, you’re going to see him batting leadoff plenty when the season rolls around.
