Kris Bryant hasn’t been in action the last few days, with the Cubs dubbing him day-to-day with an illness.
And he’s not going to be out there again today:

Rogers then hopped on ESPN1000 with a brief update, noting that although Bryant is not in the lineup, he is out on the practice field throwing with one of the coaches. Dave Kaplan followed by noting that Bryant is dealing with the “flu or a virus of some sort.”
Ultimately, Bryant missing time right now is not a significant concern for a number of reasons, especially if it’s just one of those sicknesses we all deal with occasionally. As long as it isn’t serious enough to sap him physically, it’s not going to throw his preparation for the season off course – we’re still a month away from Opening Day.
If and when there are more specifics on Bryant (if that is even necessary), we’ll let you know.
