Bah. No Yu Darvish Day today.
The Cubs’ newest starting pitcher will not be making his Spring Training debut with the Cubs today, as Darvish is apparently battling a bit of a bug:
Darvish scratched from start today (stomach bug). Will throw a bullpen today and pitch 5 days from now.

Darvish has been ill the last few days so he won't start. He'll throw a two-inning bullpen and will be on track to start in five days. Alec Mills starts in Yu's place.

Kris Bryant has been out for almost a week with an illness of some kind, so maybe it’s going around. As far as preparation for the season goes, there’s really no meaningful impact here for Darvish. He’ll still throw, he’ll rest, he’ll feel better, and he will have plenty of time to gear up for the season as the month goes on.
For us, though, it’s just a little bummer. I was ready for Yu Darvish Day! Then again, today’s game wasn’t going to be televised, so we weren’t going to get to see it anyway. But in five days, when the Cubs host the Dodgers at Sloan Park, it’s …… dang. Still not televised. I guess I’ll just spend time with my kids or something.
