Just like seeing Javy Baez make ridiculous plays in the infield even thought it’s Spring Training, I’ve been waiting to see Albert Almora, Jr. do the same thing at some point in the outfield. He does it every year.
Well, I mean, he does it in the regular season, too, but he’s one of those guys that you couldn’t possibly get to take it a little easy out there in a backyard softball game. If there’s a baseball game-like-thing going on, and there’s a play to be made, he’s going to make it.
To wit, here’s Almora going all out to make a ridiculous catch in today’s win over the Dodgers (via @Cubs):

There isn’t an announcer on that one, but the crowd’s oohing and ahhing is about all you need to hear. Stellar grab from a guy who will save a whole lotta runs out there again this year.
