Albert Almora Absolutely Destroyed One Off of Trevor Bauer (VIDEO)
For the second game in a row, Albert Almora went deep. He has the physique to show plenty of power, but he’s always been such a contact-oriented guy with a level swing that it was hard to project that power showing up.
I’m not saying a couple Spring homers will change anyone’s thinking on that front, but I will say that his .156 ISO in the big leagues is a good 30 points higher than he was showing in the minor leagues and is within 15 points of league average. We’ll see if it creeps up further this year as he (hopefully) hits righties a little better over a full season.
In the meantime, let’s enjoy him absolutely destroying a high meatball tonight off of Trevor Bauer (via @Cubs):

That pitch did not do whatever Bauer intended.
Bonus fun (with the second part being nearly three years ago to the day):
In his last four outings against the Cubs, Trevor Bauer has pitched just 11.2 innings and allowed 13 runs. Three of those were in the World Series. Heh.
He was also the pitcher on the mound a few years ago for this: https://t.co/nlltaJyd6Q
