It has arrived: cut day. The first cut day at Chicago Cubs big league Spring Training, for which the cuts are typically deep and prospect-laden.
And so it is today, with the following 13 players sent to minor league camp:

None of the 13 players there was expected to break camp with the big league team, and for the prospects, being at big league Spring Training is an opportunity to start getting acclimated to that world (and those players and those coaches).
At 49, the spring roster is still just about twice the size of the final big league roster, and, barring injuries, there isn’t a lot of drama about who is going to make the final cut.
