Although Kris Bryant has been hitting a cool .333/.486/.407 this spring, he had yet to launch one out of the park. That is, until just now.
In the top of the second inning of today’s tilt against the Rangers, Bryant lifted a 2-2 pitch from lefty Matt Moore WAY into the stratosphere and over the left field wall:

That was Bryant’s second hit of the day, and it scored Javy Baez and Ian Happ in the process. Welcome to the party, pal.
And like all good parties, this one wasn’t over yet.
An inning later, Kyle Schwarber hit an opposite field blast for his fourth homer of the season (and second RBI of the day):

Not only did Schwarber look good hitting that ball the other way, but it’s nice to see him connect off a lefty like Moore. That was one thing he had struggled with a lot in the first half of last season, so some improvements against lefties is very welcomed.
The Cubs are cruising so far today, with just a week to go until Opening Day!
