We are officially LESS than a week away from Opening Day.
And I’m very excited, but we still have some Cactus League games to play, including one this afternoon against the Brewers at Sloan Park. Sadly, this game will not be televised, but it will be broadcast on 670 The Score and at MLB.com, so you can listen in if you’d like.
As for the pitchers, Tyler Chatwood is taking his second-to-last start of the spring, and has been pretty good so far (2.81 ERA through 16.0 IP). Hopefully, he’ll go out there again today, get in his innings, stay healthy, and get ready for his final tuneup before a big season.
Opposite Chatwood, the Brewers are sending Brandon Woodruff, whom they’ll probably be relying on a lot this year, after missing out on Alex Cobb and Jake Arrieta. His spring hasn’t gone quite as well (7.04 ERA in 7.2 IP), but obviously all the usual caveats apply.
The Cubs’ lineup today is a mix of regulars and Triple-A/depth types, and, naturally, Ian Happ is leading off once again. The Brewers, for what it’s worth, are going with all “regulars.”
It’s almost time for some Friday baseball, people! Enjoy.
