If Friday’s disappointing marathon game left you uneasy about staying up to enjoy last night’s extra-innings affair, you were relieved quite quickly, as the Cubs immediately put up a four spot in the 10th inning to win 10-6.
The big hits in the 10th came as Ben Zobrist drove in Javy Baez, and then Kris Bryant cleared the bases with a double:
Brad Ziegler stays down, and moves his pitches further down from there, so you’re pretty much always going to be on the ground. Great job by Zobrist to barrel a pitch at the knees, and great job by Bryant making hard contact on an 0-2 mistake.
Bonus? Javy Baez is so smooth sliding into home plate:
Javy Baez sliding into home plate is always so smooth. Looks like he's body surfing a wave into the shore. pic.twitter.com/V1ktvlmcNd
