I could watch Javy Baez all night, man.
With two outs and Addison Russell on second base, Javy Baez was down 1-2 against Jeremy Jeffress, and all I could think was: don’t throw a breaking pitch low and away. Then I see the catcher setting up, and I think, oh, they’re going to try to climb the ladder on Baez and he’s gonna tomahawk that thing to right field – and he did!
Then, as Baez was rounding second base to try for an extremely aggressive triple – as he does – all I could think was: I hope they try to throw this thing to third base, because Javy’s liable to just keep on running – and he did!
Sure, it’s because the throw got away, but still. It’s Baez creating runs with his legs:

Ooh, on closer inspection, that throw went off Baez’s head:

Ouch, indeed. Hopefully he isn’t feeling that one later. And good use of the head, by the way …
