I think Yadi Molina is a very good catcher, and he’s a borderline Hall of Famer. I’m not going to dump on him solely because he’s a very prominent Cardinal.
That said, man, Yadi gets away with some stuff. We’ve seen him doing plenty of jawing with umpires, and yet he is almost never disciplined in the game. And that seemed to go to a new level today when Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo came out to argue a call, then Molina inserted himself (after Lovullo apparently cursed about Molina’s framing), lost his mind, and shoved an ump:

I’m sure Molina will receive a token fine, but how are you not ejected right then and there? I mean, last year, Willson Contreras threw his mask down, and it bounced and inadvertently grazed the ump – he was ejected and further punished after that. Kinda ridiculous.
