Enhanced Box Score: Cubs 13, Pirates 5 – April 11, 2018
Well that was a fun rebound, eh?
The Cubs’ bats came out explosive in this one, punctuated by Javy Baez’s second two-homer game in as many days. And those games bookended him getting engaged – have yourself a week, my man!
There were rockets all over this one, as the Cubs handled every pitcher the Pirates sent out, and every starter had at least one hit in the game (heck – they even left some runs on the bases, despite scoring a baker’s dozen). On the pitching side, we’ll have to take a closer look at Jon Lester’s outing. But for now, this is a happy moment.
