Every team in the Cubs’ organization won yesterday!
Sort of. Every team in the Cubs’ organization that played yesterday won. That’s the first time this season (I think).
Even stranger, every team that played won by the score of 9-4. And yes, there was more than one game. In fact, there were two. With Tennessee and South Bend both rained out, only Iowa and Myrtle Beach got in their games. And since Chicago was rained out as well, those two road wins in the minors were enough to qualify as our first organizational sweep.
On the down side, with just two games in the system, today’s Daily is on the light side.
Triple A: Iowa Cubs
Iowa 9, Memphis 4
Iowa rallied for seven runs in the final two innings to pull out a win.
Double A: Tennessee Smokies
The Smokies were rained out.
High A: Myrtle Beach Pelicans
Myrtle Beach 9, Down East 4
The Pelicans got their scoring done early, and then held on for the win.
Low A: South Bend Cubs
South Bend was rained out.
