The Cubs didn’t get a chance to build off their momentous Saturday afternoon victory, but given the way that played out, it was a good weekend overall. Now it’s time to put the nails to the Cardinals.

Friday, April 13

- The Cubs reported final, theoretical offer to Jake Arrieta was for six years and $120 million.
- The Cubs were listed among the three favorites for Manny Machado after this season.
- The cast of ‘The Sandlot’ reunited on the 25th anniversary of the movie.
- Albert Almora was scratched from the lineup with an illness.
- Anthony Rizzo’s status is looking good, according to Joe Maddon.
