In the interests of providing the most complete picture available on Kris Bryant’s situation, here’s the update following the reveal that he won’t be in the starting lineup for a fourth straight day.
The news is better, but then it has seemed good and better ever since he first went down on Sunday. Still, I’d rather hear these things than some crazy alternative:
Kris Bryant had full baseball activity yesterday and came out feeling great. Will do so again today and hopefully be back in the lineup Saturday.

A #Cubs official says Kris Bryant ran through baseball activities on Thursday and will do the same routine again today. Barring any unforeseen setbacks, it's realistic to expect Bryant back in Saturday's lineup vs. #Brewers at Wrigley.

Bryant will go through another day of exercises today & the team will evaluate him from there.

You could run with the quotes there and assume that Bryant will be back tomorrow, but there has been a sense of optimism every day so far, so I’m gonna hold back a bit. Without knowing the extent to which there are physical issues here and the extent to which there are mental issues here, I’m not sure anyone – including the Cubs – can know whether Bryant will be ready to play tomorrow (even if he performs well in drills today) until it’s actually time to make a decision.
Hopefully he’ll be good to go. But we’ll see when we see.
UPDATE: Bryant is taking BP right now, and he’s wearing a face guard:
