Well, sir, that was one of the worst all-around Cubs games I’ve seen in a while. Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant just barely reached the seats on a couple fly balls in the wind, but outside of that, everything was just awful.
I saw so many mental mistakes, physical mistakes, poor approaches, poorly-located pitches, and … yielding? Is that a thing? It was not a pleasant experience.
You’ll have that sometimes, even by good teams. The home stand ends with a thud after five wins to kick it off.
We’ll get into more of the particulars later (like Yu Darvish’s continued struggles), but I do want to give *some* of the credit to Tyler Anderson and the Rockies’ bats. They did good things today. The Cubs did a whole lot of bad things, yes, but the Rockies also did some good. So, you know, bully for them.
