The Chicago Cubs will try to turn things around today after their first three-game losing streak of the year.
Chicago Cubs Lineup:
- Ben Zobrist, RF
- Kris Bryant, 3B
- Anthony Rizzo, 1B
- Willson Contreras, C
- Kyle Schwarber, LF
- Addison Russell, SS
- Jason Heyward, CF
- Javy Baez, 2B
- Tyler Chatwood, P
It’s a similar lineup to last night, with the top five identical, and then Addison Russell entering in favor of Albert Almora (by way of Jason Heyward sliding to center, Ben Zobrist covering right, Javy Baez going back to second base … so much interchangeability – it’s nice when it works).
Luke Weaver is a very solid young pitcher, but the Cubs have handled him very well so far in his young career. He’s a split-neutral guy, so the Cubs were able to go with whatever lineup they wanted in this one and not sacrifice any kind of platoon advantage. Interesting, in that regard, that Ian Happ sits once again. The Cubs say they aren’t thinking of sending him down, but he isn’t making many starts these days.
As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time (1:15 CT).
