What have you done with the #Cubes, guys?
Aside from the Javy Baez injury (hopefully not serious), tonight could not have gone better, especially when you consider how physically and mentally worn down the Cubs must have been coming into this one.
But they got an early lift from Kris Bryant and Javy Baez, who went deep early, and from Kyle Hendricks who cruised by letting the Marlins put the ball in play. Ian Happ went deep twice, Hendricks preserved the bullpen, and it was just a good old fashioned blowout win for the Cubs against a bad team. The way God intended.
The Cubs scored as many runs in this game as they scored in the entirety of their five-game losing streak. This still counts as only one win, though.
Every positional starter had at least one hit, and at least one run or RBI. It was a nice game.
