Hi, Cubs. It’s your pal and #1 fan, Michael. We’ve had a rough go of it lately. Please don’t put us through another stressful or laughably difficult game against a team like the Marlins tonight. Please. Just … please.
Here’s the good news: Kyle Hendricks has been pretty good this season and has gone at least seven innings in each of his last two starts. On top of that, he held the Marlins to just 1 earned run over 6.0 innings in his first start of the season.
Here’s the bad news: Jarlin Garcia has been even better this season and allowed no earned runs (plus just one hit and two walks) against the Cubs in his first appearnce of the year (he threw 6.0 innings in the 17-inning marathon game). The Cubs did make plenty of hard contact in that one though (50% hard-hit rate), so maybe they were just a bit unlucky? I don’t know. Just stop being bad or unlucky.
Again, please.
